Reality Bites!

Raising cost of petrol..... Well, thats the popular buzzword nowadays.... Even the pakcik jual nasi lemak, the guy that sells t-shirt kotaraya and the auntie that work at mcdonalds are talking bout it....Most of us was caught by surprised when the government announces that the current petrol price will increase by 40%... Man... thats a HUGE increase....!!
Personally, methink that the price increase is long overdue.. The government cant keep on subsidising the petrol cost or we will become bancrupt one day... Look at our neighbouring countries.. Most of their petrol prices are quite substantially high.. No wonder they've been filling up their petrol here.. when they cross the border.. Northern and Southeren alike..
There was a longgggg queue at all of the petrol pump in malaysia last night... I was lucky that i went to fill up near midnight after goin to Smidec Dinner at KLCC.. i waited less than 15 mins.... *Btw, the door gift that we got were a major coolness... A Plug in ADAPTOR for major countries/continents in the world.... Guess that will be the last function i will be attending on behalf of my organisation as i will be leaving them soon..... ;) Gosh i will missed all the functions and performances and of course, my dearest friends when i leave the company... That reminds me, i still havent cleared up all my stuff at the office*....
Btw, back to the current oil crisis.... The government announced that they will be saving up to 13 Billion Ringgit now... Eventhough bulk of it will go back to the people through direct compensation, but i personally think that the money will be made better use if they really buck up the public transportation system... Its not a matter of the people doesnt want to use public transportation.. its just that the system now is unreliable and uncomfortable... If given the chance, of course we would want to use public transportation to work or shopping or other errands, but, the erratic schedule of the buses.. the packed buses or trains during peak hours due to not enough buses or trains provided... delays, snatch thiefs, pickpockets.... and other crimes really does deter people from using the public transportation ....Learn it from the Japanese or Germans that have a really excellent public transportation system....
I was watching the news just now and they said that our petrol reserves will only lasted until year 2013 .... What!!..... that made me really think whether my decision to leave my current agency to join the Oil and Gas sector is really wise... he...he..... But come to think of it, if really all the oil and gas in the world to finish, then, the world will definitely collapse or come to a halt.... We will go back to the pre-industrial age... where we will become hunter gatherer to survive.. he..he... Of course thats just my imagination but the possibilities very much real .... Everything nowadays is depending on oil.... from the machines to electricity, industries no matter how big or small... oil is THE basic need.... Unless sumbody can come up with a substitute of oil... sumthing that sounds like cold fusion *heard that in one of the James Bond's Movies*.... or some other real alternatines.. renewable alternative energy, then we are really in deep trouble..........
So, there you go... the future is actually now... Its happening and whether we like it or not, we have to face it.....Sigh!!
With all the commotion, i really need a holiday!!... he..he...
~Btw, im goin off to Penang with Pari, Idan, Rupaul, Syabab and Asmidar this weekend for a short holiday.... SUN, SEA, SURF and Nasi Kandaq... Yippee.... Really looking foward to spend time by the sea with my friends sesambil mencuci mata.. he...he....
